It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that after weeks of planning and seeking guidance from all of our relevant professional bodies, we have taken the difficult decision to not run our camp this summer. My priority is the safety of your children, your family and my staff, and sadly this means we need to stay closed.
Different types of camps are regulated differently depending on what they offer, so you might see some local camps still running or accepting bookings- you may wish to consider these as options for your children this summer if you feel that is right for your family. If you’d like me to point you in the right direction for another camp please don’t hesitate to email me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have been overwhelmed with support from families and cannot thank you enough for your understanding and kind words. It is a true illustration of the community we have built together since The Village Sports Camp started in 2014. You and your children are part of our story- this is just a pause before we write the next chapter safely, together.
Proud to be in partnership with:
Safe, fun and affordable sports
THE VILLAGE SPORTS CAMP
The Village Sports Camp was conceived in 2014 after a gap was identified in the provision of affordable and fun sports coaching in the Barnet/Mill Hill area. The camp’s aim is to provide children aged 4-12 with high quality coaching from experienced specialist coaches, while remaining fun and safe with a family/community feel. All of our coaches are chosen for their knowledge, commitment and personality.
The camp also offers leadership opportunities to young people aged 14+ and provides mentors and on the job training to young people wishing to develop their skills in the art of sports coaching. We are proud to be growing the young people that are part of our community. If you are interested in this please email Nicole at email@example.com. We also run regular tutoring sessions in GCSE PE, A Level PE and vocational BTEC/CTEC Sport at level 3.
The camp Director, Nicole Cara, is an experienced coach and athlete, specialising in Track and Field and has competed at National level. Nicole is a qualified teacher of PE and has taught in both primary and secondary schools in Barnet. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Educational, Child and Adolescence Psychology at the Institute of Education, UCL, where she will qualify as an Educational Psychologist.
Sports and Groupings
We have specialist groups for Football, Cricket, Multi-Sports and a Tiny Tots group for children aged 4-5 years old. We operate a flexible policy where children are free to choose which sports/groups they want to be in each session, so every child enjoys thier time at camp.
The Camp Day
The camp day runs from 10am-3pm, with all parents/carers invited to the presentation at 2.55pm each day. Each Friday presentation of medals, trophies and tshirts starts at 2.50pm. Kosher and vegetarian snacks, and plenty of water/squash is provided.
A limited number of places on Extended day are available. Drop off is from 9.30am with pick up by 3.30pm.
